This is a term position starting September 20, 2010.

Hours: Hours of work will consist of 35.5 hours per week

The Consultant will work within a team to provide employment related services to clients, employment needs assessments and career decision making. Must be current on labour market information, available programs for clients and able to facilitate a variety of workshops. The successful candidate must have knowledge of career/employment counselling techniques and the ability to work within a team.

Primary areas of responsibility include:
- Career/employment counselling techniques
- The ability to provide delivery and arrange for assessment of Myers Briggs and Strong Interest Inventories
- Knowledge of government income supports and employment and non-employment related programs and services available for clients
- Familiarity with labour market and how to use information to assist clients, including prevailing wages and working conditions, BC labour laws and employment standards
- Proficiency with MS Office, Access, Internet, and email

Requirements:
- An undergraduate degree or graduate degree in a related discipline with several years related experience, or at a minimum, a combination of relevant, specialized competency-based training in employment/career counselling, assessments and career practitioner related topics.
- Career Practitioner Certification or proven experience in employment services in both one on one and workshop environments would be an asset.
- Criminal Record Check will be required along with Confidentiality Agreement.
